Dakota and Stephanie

I was finally able to do Stephanie and Dakota's shoot this past weekend! Steph asked me a while back and we were both so busy for the longest time, but we decided to buckle down and just do it. I can't tell you how much fun I had with these two. They were naturals.

Falling head over heals. Or in this case... boots.
Dakota bought this necklace for Stephanie. This is their anniversary date. I thought this was so cute!

Dumpster Diving!!

So yesterday, (Mother's day!) my mom and I wanted to find some cool stuff but didn't want to spend a lot of money. So mom suggested it would be a good idea to dig through the dumpsters behind the antique stores downtown. I thought she was crazy at first, but it was SO much fun and we found some AMAZING stuff! We did decide to go inside a couple of antique stores and we bought a few things there as well. And keep in mind that throughout the whole day, we only ended up spending around $22 the whole day!! More details to come! Here are some pics!! :)

ANTIQUE SHOP: We found this mirror in a little corner shop just sitting outside. The owner gave it to us for $5!! I love the rustic/weathered look!

Bottom of mirror.

Top of mirror.

ANTIQUE SHOP: A family friend of ours owns an antique shop downtown and that's where I found this little guy. She gave him to us for $12! It's a handmade quilt teddy bear :)

Love the lace!!

His eyes are heart shaped buttons. Here you can see where he is worn. Definitely been loved!

DUMPSTER: Mom pulled this out of one of the first dumpsters we went to, and I fell in love with it. It has a golden finish and only some of the decoration is still in tact. I LOVE this kind of stuff that has a super old/vintagy look to it. Looks like I'll be looking up Pinterest projects soon ;)

Love this worn detail!

DUMPSTER: Yankee catalogs from 1986. Not sure what I'm going to do with this. Maybe make a collage of all the crazy pics inside! Hmm, what do you guys think??

DUMPSTER: This was one of our most exciting finds! The cover says it all. I figured this would be worth a lot of money? Does anyone know anything about this kind of stuff?? (Comment below or tweet me!) :)
Anyway, Super exciting!

And again.

DUMPSTER: Words cannot express how much I love this. I absolutely adore this picture of this old man! I just love cute old men in general. I'm not sure if the picture was in this frame, but I found the picture with NO rips, and then I found the frame separately. Turns out they fit perfectly together. Definitely one of my favorite finds!

DUMPSTER: 1940s - 1950s Bingo game.

Inside Bingo.
DUMPSTER: Surprisingly, these were at the BOTTOM of the dumpster, unharmed!! (This was when I cut my finger on some other broken glass. Well worth it though!)

ANTIQUE STORE: Old Dooney & Bourke and Sostanza purses. They probably aren't worth much to a lot of people nowadays, but I still think they're really cute and I'll definitely be using them! Antique lady sold BOTH of these purses for only $2 total!

DUMPSTER: I loved this little dish! Also at the bottom of the dumpster, unharmed :)

I just love this color scheme. The picture doesn't even do justice.

DUMPSTER: Mom and I went crazy when we found these. We found the first one and dug through the rest of the dumpster to find the other one. We finally did! These shoes are probably from the 20s or early 30s (I did some research!) And no that is not blood on the side. Just where they have been worn to death, and plus they're like 80 years old. haha

Close up.

DUMPSTER: Little cup thing :)

DUMPSTER: Mom found this this little basket thing, and she is going to keep it. Not sure what it's used for, but she was super fond of it! haha

Inside.

ANTIQUE STORE: We found all of these mason jars and the lady who was selling them to us took $5 for ALL of them!  I didn't have time to clean them, so they look super dirty and gross right now. Eventually what I was to do with the small ones is put tiny candles in the bottom and use them as a very simple center piece for a table/coffee table/wherever :)

WELL, that's all of my treasures for this time! Mom definitely got me hooked on dumpster diving and I'll probably be doing more of it ;) Is it illegal?? Who knows. I certainly don't know. ANYWAY, if anyone else has some super cute ideas when it comes to using these things, please comment below, tweet me or Facebook me!!
